Contracts

Layout, language precedence and signing tips for documents that mix right-to-left and left-to-right.

Decide the layout

Side-by-side columns work for short clauses; Arabic then English sections suit longer documents. Pick one and use it throughout.

State which language prevails

Many bilingual agreements say which version governs if the two differ. Agree this with your legal advisor before sending.

Place fields for both directions

Put signature and date fields where they read naturally in both languages, and check that names and numbers display correctly.

Invite each signer in their language

Invitations and reminders in the signer's own language mean fewer questions and faster signatures.

Proofread the final PDF

Right-to-left text can shift during conversion. Review the exact file you will send, not the draft in your editor.
