The problem with attachments
An attachment is a copy. It can be forwarded, downloaded and kept forever, and you have no way to know who has it.
What a controlled link adds
A link can require a password, expire on a date, limit access to certain emails or domains, and block downloads where needed.
Revoke when plans change
If a deal stalls or a link reaches the wrong person, you can switch it off. Anyone opening it afterwards sees that it is no longer available.
See what happened
Each visit is recorded, so you know whether the file was opened and by whom.
A simple rule
If you would be uncomfortable seeing the file forwarded, send it as a controlled link.
